The Culture Crisis Church, 1 Corinthians 6:9 - 11, Sexual Immorality, A Different Kind of Sin
The Apostle Paul begins to list some sins that will not allow us to inherit the Kingdom of God, and he starts with sexual immorality
Why so much talk about sexual immorality compared to other sins? The Bible teaches that sexual immorality is different than other sins; other sins a person commits is outsidethe body, but sexual immorality is a sin against the person's own body.
Sexual sin is not only physical, but theological; it greats a 'one flesh' entity.
Sex is a benefit inside marriage, but it’s a curse outside marriage.
We should not use the tool that God designed for one-flesh (marriage) for casual pleasure.
Sexual Sin:
- It joins people together permanently…
- Example of a breakup (Demonstration: paper glued together)
- You create a soul tie/connection…
- You lost a piece of yourself with every person you sleep with
- No such thing as casual sex
1. Not only does it hurt you, it hurts the other person as well
2. It hurts the Kingdom of God
3. It’s the only sin that creates a whole separate entity; you create a ‘one flesh’ entity…
